I’m not sure if I was more appreciative of the Spaniards going tongue and cheek and not trying to rival Marvel Studios with their comics-based superhero movie, or that they laughed at themselves by making him a tribute to national mediocrity. Either way, it was a fun watch. Cheesy at times? Yes. Makes you say “I didn’t know Spain did Indie/budget films too?” yes. Sure, it has its shortcomings and misses the comedic and/or action marks at times too, but even so, it tops anything DC has put out (oh, snap!). So if you’re the sort who can be OK with laughing with people who are laughing at themselves, then you’ll find enough laughable moments in this flick to make you glad you watched it.
